Today I have a new addition to the Burlesque series for you. This is lovely Baltimore area Burlesque performer and producer, Tapitha Kix. Widely known for her wonderful mix of tap dancing with classy burlesque. Glad to have her join the series!
After finishing a 3 piece collaboration with Michael Owen, Baltimore Artist and Baker Award recipient Ed Gross hired me to take some portraits of him and Michael at his studio at the old Crown and Cork building. Ed’s work focuses on found object assemblages. He travels from place to place collecting old machine parts, scraps of metal, wood and any material he finds interesting. From this found material that he creates his work. Check out his web site or drop by his gallery, all work is for sale!
A few months ago I was assigned by Baltimore Magazine to photograph local actor Bruce Nelson at Everyman Theatre here in Baltimore. Its not always that your favorite shots are chosen given the various constraints that magazine stories are under design-wise. This was one of those occasions. Here were my two favorites. Enjoy!
We teamed up yet again with the dapper gentlemen of Christopher Schafer Clothier. This time to photographer the father and son team who make great menswear possible in Baltimore.
Michael Owen is a Baltimore based muralist/artist and friend of mine. I was recently commissioned to do a few portraits of him at his Creative Alliance residence and studio. Those around Baltimore might be most familiar with Owen thru his work as creator of The Baltimore Love Project. I met Michael 7 or 8 years ago and came on board with the Love project as their official photographer. We became friends and collaborators. We’ve recently been hard at work photographing for The Baltimore Love Project’s upcoming book. So stay tuned for that. In the meantime check out Owen in his space!
