One of the greatest joy’s in life for me is documenting the time I spend with my friends. The more I do this, the more I love it. Capturing those in between, unposed moments of laughter, of energy, of life. The images will ensure that the memories aren’t lost or faded by age, preserving these cherished moments. And, most important to me, they will serve as a story telling vehicle to future generations a window into what life was like for us.
For the 5th year in a row, my church, The Garden Community, has come together to celebrate Christmas. Each year we celebrate at my studio, with food, music and a photo booth. This year, to shake things up a bit, we decided to hold the party at my friend Joel and Jess’s house (Joel also serves as pastor of the church). And because 5 is an important number, we decided to have this party be a black tie affair, fancy and jazzy. Because the location was in a house with several rooms, and not a big open space, I found that taking candids would be an important thing. So here follows some of my favorite captures from that evening. I look forward to sharing the photo booth images with you soon as well! Merry Christmas!
